baby steps

I had this nice entry all written and thought it would be good to add the pic of the book I'm buying to help me study and then I lost the whole entry! Bummer. I got the pic, though.

Um, let me try to recreate the blog.

Yesterday I met with my buds from Nursing School to study for the NCLEX, which is the nursing board examination. I also went to GMU to request my transcript and degree status be sent to Richmond, so I can get the Authorization To Test (ATT) so that I then can schedule a test date. I'm looking at Nov. 3rd, but we'll see. I also went online and registered at the test site (Vienna) paying the test fee, $200, which is good for 365 days. I better have taken the test by then!

Andy and Suzette are my study partners. Andy failed the first time taking the test, which is discouraging and scarry, but I think he knows the stuff and will do fine this time. I hope! All the more reason to STUDY, STUDY, STUDY.

Mary, my friend from BirthCare, who is now a RN working at Washington Hospital Center, recommended the pictured book above. She said it really helped her for the test. She took the test in June. I am following her advice and buying the book. She is in ICU now, which has got to be one of the hardest places to start as a nurse. Not for me! I'm much more prepared to be a labor and delivery nurse. Thank you very much (TUVM?)
