I went to the campus today and turned in my financial aid paperwork and got my ID! OK, so I totally had to register for a phantom class so I was a 'registered' student and then I could get my ID. Then on the way out I stopped by a kiosk with an Internet connected computer and logged into the system and dropped the phantom class. I couldn't figure out another way to get the ID today, and I didn't want to wait until there was a huge line.
On Monday I want the deck parking pass. I'm willing to fork over the extra dough to get the closer parking. Like my friend Kelly says, 'You can always park far away and walk if the weather's nice, and your are not running late for class, and your books aren't too heavy, and you feel like walking." (sorry Kel, I'm sure you said it better than that, but that's they way I remembered it!)
I ordered about $500 worth of books on the Internet. Most of them are from Amazon or Half.com, and most are new. Some are used, but promised to be in good or like new condition. I'm not sure but I think it was about $200 less than going to the bookstore and picking up the books there. Plus I didn't pay shipping on much of it.
Once they arrive, I'm thinking of weighing the books in one HUGE pile and seeing if they are over 100lbs or not. I'm thinking they will be. Phew! I hope I don't have to lug them TO class and back every day. I guess I could use the wheeled cart thing I used to use at the home school conventions. I'm sure I've spent more than $500 at those things and have hauled that much weight in books around. The only difference is that this time I will be the one reading all the books! I'm sure the kids will enjoy the irony in this.
Oh, the photo on the ID is horrid. Please don't ever ask to look at it. What was I thinking walking that far in 99 degrees and then posing for the mug shot? Hot temperature? yes. Hot mama? no! LOL
