Friday

Today wasn't as productive as I wanted it to be, but I finished one test and began studying for another. Sometimes it seems like everything is coming together, then at other times I still feel overwhelmed by the amount of information I need to read, learn and know. I still have two major projects to complete in the next two weeks, one clinical test out (on cleaning central lines) and five more tests to take. Then I have five online tests to take. One is the test that will determine if I need to take a "how to past the boards" class this summer or not and the other two are practice tests for the two final tests that must be completed in a proctored setting. It's all part of the ATI course we had to pay for when we started the program.

Those two final proctored tests will count towards our final grades in the last two classes this semester, pharm and patho. My focus now is on completing the two big projects and then the classes and then vacation at Hilton Head. I am looking forward to that week, let me tell you. I hope my family and the grandmothers all get along well, but really, I just need time to be a mom and wife and daughter without being a student!

My mom leaves for Italy for almost three weeks tomorrow. I will be watering the plants while she is gone. Not much to do, but it's something to help out. I haven't spent much time with her this year, so I don't mind helping her feel better about leaving the house for that long. Good thing there are not pets to walk and feed. That would be a pain. I was hoping to hide away at her house and study some, but I don't know if I'll get to do that. It might happen, who knows?

Tonight I went to see Carmen at GMU, which was an interesting play. Very modern and, well, strange. J and I enjoyed ourselves (and got rained on, on the way out!) but I think we will enjoy the classic Swan Lake tomorrow more. I guess I'm not a fan of modern dance. Who knew? There are only a couple of shows left this season that I want to see, so hopefully I can get to them.

I'm still not registered for any classes this summer, but I'm working on that. Hopefully the situation will resolve soon. I sent an email to the head of our program, so I hope it works out soon.

No photos today. Maybe I can get a couple of bluebells online before too long. Soccer game tomorrow if the rain stops in time. Other than that, I'm headed back to respiratory and renal systems, along with acidosis and alkalosis. Oh boy!
