I get asked this all the time nowadays. And the answer....drum roll..... I don't know. Haven't got a clue.
Here are some thoughts....randomly assembled.
1) pay off my student loans
2) try to find car insurance as the policy was canceled thanks to brilliant but unwise son who is trying to get kicked out asap (where is he, btw? anyone seen him today?)
3) plan a wedding (rather: help plan a wedding for my eldest, who seems determined to marry before the rip old age of 23)
4) finish school (this one sounds like a keeper)
5) catch up on sleep (ha ha ha, yea, like that will happen)
6) clean the house (not likely..., but this is getting rather funny as I go on)
7) loose 50 pounds of ugly forty flabby fat (disgusting!)
8) work out (um huh, just the thought of it makes me tired!)
9) grocery shop and start cooking again (roflol)
10) apply for jobs in the nursing field
11) apply for grad school
Okay, number 10 is interesting. We had a visit from the career specialist at GMU the other day and I liked the lady. She is about my age (but looks way older, imo! ;) and she mentioned some of the services we get for free once we graduate (for six months, then it's pay $35 a hour). I'm thinking about talking to her. I will make an appointment. Really, I will. Soon. Maybe.
The job that I was thinking about searching for was in the corporate world. You know, like a nurse for some big company (located in, say, Centreville or Chantilly) who would hire me to monitor health stuff in the company. I dunno what they actually do, but it would, like, a 9 to 5 job with benefits. I could do that. :-)
Of course they'd have to pay well.
Then again, there is the whole school nurse thingie. I'm thinking I like that approach. Maybe the hospital, but I'll have to wait and see how the whole working in July works out for me. I'm not at all sure I will be able to do it. I'm just not sure I'm the type to make it work.
I do love the births! I'm not sure I can give it up. Maybe become a nurse pratictioner? I'd have to learn how to spell it first, though. I kinda kin to that one.
Or maybe I will just write blogs for a living. Opps, that one doesn't sound very practical. Fun maybe, but I need money to pay off the loans, get car insurance, pay for a wedding, hire a maid and a cook, oh, and maybe a life coach!
Keep smiling!
