Mostly what I have done this past week is sleep and think. I've been busy cleaning up lots of clutter in the house, and there is lots more to do on that account. Also, trying to get the kids ready for school again....supplies, summer reading and math, library books returned. Oh, and my car ate a book on CD. It's in the car disk holder, but I can't get it out. The book is $80 if I have to pay for it, which I don't want to do. I'm not sure who I should go to in order to try to retrieve it. Bummer.
And there are a couple of books missing, which are accruing fines at the library as I type.
J decided to try out for the field hockey team, only she didn't get the dates until after the try outs. Now we are trying to play catch up and get her on the team. Don't know if that will work. But we do have a doctor's appointment today to get the medical forms filled out before the practice at 4 pm. And I need to help her get the mouth guard fitted. Tomorrow she has a hair appointment at 12, but practice is from 8-11, hopefully it will all work out.
In retrospect, last week was probably the slowest week of the year. Nice! I made it to the pool 3 times. :-) and to yoga once. Ah well. I'm currently thinking that yoga will happen a bit more once the kids are in school, but that could just be a day dream.
I've started reviewing my nursing notes for the boards. I'm still not sure when I will take them, but I figure that I need to spend at least an hour a day reviewing questions. I also need to make some drug cards with the most common meds on them. I really don't remember drugs very well. I know the ones used for pregnancy and birth, but that's about all. It just isn't my thing. So, I will start to review that soon, too. I have two pharm books, no 3, that I can use to help me study that. After all of this, I don't want to fail to pass the boards. Even with a 95% prediction of passage, I know that my weaknesses are med/surg (because we had a terrible teacher) and pharm. On the general safety, patient care, maternity and psych I did very well. So I will try and concentrate on the weak areas and attempt to bone up of those before the test.
Oh, and I did make it to a birth the other night, which was fun. Quick, easy, and the way it should be.
