What now?

What am I doing with myself nowadays? Firstly, sleeping and recovering from the very busy past year. Secondly, I've been busy helping NK get 1) settled into her and R's apartment 2) preparing for the wedding ceremony and party 3) helping get Neve's stuff out of my house (and name...as in car, etc.) Thirdly, helping J get all her stuff ready for school and getting her on the field hockey team, and getting ready for a new season of travel soccer. Um, not much else? Yea, more. The BIGGIE is studying for the NCLEX. I should get a letter from the state saying I'm approved to take my exam. This is the one that counts, the one that is for the 'Registered' part of nurse. I guess I realize now that I am a nurse, but those R.N. initials are important (and my ticket to getting a job).

Getting a job is another project. I'm not worried about it, but the timing needs to work out, and I need to have a bit of rest before starting again.

But I'm still going to home births and births at the birth center. Hopefully not too many 36+ hour births, but whatever it takes. I will hate to see this part of my life end (one the one hand) but I'm also ready to set it down. It is a lot easier knowing when you have to go to work and when you are off. I love being off and home and not thinking about when the phone might ring next.

And I'm thinking about a trip. I'd like to go to New Zealand and take the Milford Track. More on this in the future. It's just a dream at this point, but I've learned (if nothing else this past year) that you have to have a dream before it can become a reality.
